Health Requirements

To ensure the health and safety of all pets under our care, the following requirements must be met prior to boarding:

  1. Vaccinations:
    • Your pet must be current on all vaccinations, including but not limited to:
      • Rabies
      • Distemper/Parvovirus
      • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
      • Canine Influenza
  2. Intestinal Parasite Screen:
    • Your pet must have a negative intestinal parasite screen within the last three (3) months.
  3. Flea and Tick Prevention:
    • Your pet must be on a veterinarian-approved flea and tick preventative. Proof of current preventative measures must be provided.

Treatment Authorization

  • Banister Animal Hospital is authorized to provide necessary medical treatment for any illnesses or injuries incurred during the boarding stay. All treatment costs will be the owner’s responsibility. Every attempt will be made to inform the pet owner of the condition to be treated and an estimate to be provided.

  • If any parasites are found while boarding, appropriate treatment will be administered at the owners expense.

Personal Items

  • Banister Animal Hospital recommends that you do not bring personal toys, clothing, or bedding. While we strive to maintain the safety of personal belongings, we cannot be held responsible for any lost, damaged, or soiled items.

Medications

  • Any medications to be administered must be in the original prescribed containers. There will be a fee for medication administration while boarding.
